The Waters Avenue Phase Streetscape Phase III portion, between the Victory Drive Right of Way and 37th Street was completed in December 2022. This was the final phase of the Waters Avenue Streetscape project.

The Phase III portion from 37th Street to the just north of Victory Drive has been priced for construction. Work expected to begin in the 1st quarter of 2021.

Final design has been permitted. It is being priced for construction. Construction expected to begin in the early 4th quarter of 2021.

Final design of Phase III (37th to the Victory Drive right of way) is complete and currently in permitting. Sidewalk easements are expected to be finalized in the early 2nd quarter 2021. Once the design is permitted and the sidewalk easements are obtained, the City will move forward with construction pricing.

A public meeting was held to discuss the project ion general and the sidewalk easements in late October. Project is moving forward with final design. Remaining funding for the project will be funded by SPLOST VII.

Phase III construction documents are being finalized. There will need to be sidewalk easements acquired for this phase of the project at specific locations. The initial steps for obtaining these easements has started. Once the easements are obtained, the final design plans can be completed. Remaining funding for the project will be funded by SPLOST VII.

Construction of the first two phases of improvements is complete. The consultant has begun to update the Phase III design. Once the design is complete it will go into permitting. Phase 3 construction will be funded by SPLOST VII.

The consultant agreement amendment to finalize the Phase III design was approved by City Council on 12/5/2019. Design will move forward during the 1st Quarter of 2020. Once the design is complete, it will go into permitting. Remaining funds for the project will be funded by SPLOST VII.

Phase II between Wheaton and Anderson Street was completed in August 2019.

Phase II between Wheaton and Anderson Street has begun construction. Johnson-Laux is the contractor and the construction contract is $1,555,290.19. The project consists of removing and replacing the existing sidewalk, new accessible ramps, stamped concrete crosswalks, landscaping, and upgraded street lighting. Work began at Anderson Street and the contractor is working north.The work is over 70% complete and the scheduled completion is in the fall 2019. The contractor is currently ahead of schedule and the project may be completed earlier.

Staff met with neighborhood groups in July 2018. Plans are currently in permitting. Final plans are expected in October 2018. Construction is expected to start in the first quarter of 2019.

Staff plans to meet with neighborhood groups in July 2018. It is anticipated that final plans and permits will be available in July 2018. Construction is expected to start in Fall 2018 and completed in Summer 2019.
